Close the door my friend

Close the door. my friend, close the door.

chuck's office

Drop the mantle round, lay your tired frame down.

Close the door, my friend, close the door.

Flow the blood, beat the heart, lift breath no more.

Close the door, my friend, close the door.

Come the day that melts the frost of morn,

lay your head down soft, lift your spirit high.

Close the door my friend close the door.

Hark the soft timbered voice, leave the old tattered blind,

turn forward to rejoice and embrace joy magnified.

Close the door my friend, close the door.

Settled time gaped nigh, in decades of truth,

touched the ground and sky, took the sweet and the gall,

embraced the good and the sorrow, took a place in the morrow.

Close the door, my friend, close the door.

Now know what was draped, the good shroud worn;

straight forward, no linger, but open and more,

never failing to believe, took hold of the chore,

rest now your head, slip silent to distant blessed shore.

Close the door, my friend……..

its okay…… close the door.
